Is there an easier way to get internet access?
With the last stable update cyanogen activated USB Tethering (Internet connection forwarding from the phone
to e.g. a notebook).
To activate USB Tethering you need the CyanogenMod 4.2.3 and an USB cable.
Plug the cable into phone and computer, enable tethering via
Menu> Settings> Wireless> Internet tethering
A network interface called usb0 turns up. The connection is created automatically and you can start surfing right away.
This tutorial applies only to European T-Mobile G1s with Android OS 1.1. You can use Mac OS X, Linux or Windows and it requires no additional tools.
